The theme for the weekly sessions is “This Happy Place”, enabling us to share the places we love with one another and to explore them through reminiscence, imagination, and creativity.
You do not need to be an older person anyone can join; it is for carers and the people they care for.

9th April 2021*Accessible for all abilities, you can even do your workout from your chair - No experience necessary* A weekly group to enhance your wellbeing, teaching you boxing training and mindfulness techniques aimed at carers. These sessions are designed to help you feel less stressed, more energetic, promote better sleep, improve your mood and your relationships.
The course is led by Luke Doherty, who played rugby for England and now teaches mindfulness to elite athletes including Saracens and Harlequins rugby clubs. He’s also designed programmes for carers over the past 5 years.
The one hour sessions are live streamed into your home, you’ll learn a proper warm up routine, key boxing moves, do guided meditations to relax and explore how mindfulness can help in your day to day life.

We will cover the psychological education behind why we can feel anxious and go through some techniques to help manage anxiety. They will explore characters and what makes a story, developing, writing, and acting their own original radio play. They will incorporate music and sound effects and record the play through Zoom, sharing their work with family and friends on the final week of the project. They will receive a recording of the play to keep."

6th May 2021This group will focus on managing the emotional impact of caring for a loved one, with a long-term condition such as illness, disability, Dementia.
Subjects covered include:
- Managing stress, anxiety, and depression
- Managing frustration and anger
- Coping with role loss and managing grief
- Maintaining healthy lifestyles and good well-being
- Assertiveness
- Recognising the warning signs and symptoms
Taking Back Control will consist of four, ninety group sessions delivered over four weeks at, there are 6 places, and you must attend all sessions if you sign up.

- Assertiveness
- Recognising the warning signs and symptoms

These sessions are designed to help you feel less stressed, more energetic, promote better sleep, improve your mood and your relationships.
The course is led by Luke Doherty, who played rugby for England and now teaches mindfulness to elite athletes including Saracens and Harlequins rugby clubs. He’s also designed programmes for carers over the past 5 years.
The one hour sessions are live streamed into your home, you’ll learn a proper warm up routine, key boxing moves, do guided meditations to relax and explore how mindfulness can help in your day to day life.

This session helps you stretch, keep your body mobile, helps with balance, gets your blood pumping. There is also a chance to learn how to massage your own body, treat yourself with oils you can make at home. Carers have reported that it has helped them relax, feel less stressed and calmer.

26th June 2021Do you work and care for a loved one? Do you want something new and exciting to do at the weekend? This group is open to all carers and we are encouraging working carers to join.
St. Margaret’s House in Bethnal Green are inviting carers from the Carer’s Centre Tower Hamlets to co-create an exciting new digital art project around the theme of care and caring for others, inspired by the children’s novel ‘The Borrowers’ by Mary Norton.
Carers will join the wonderful artists Kazuko Hohki and Milou Stella as care and imagination experts, using story-telling, craft, improvisation, textiles and more...
