We do not have a printer and cannot print copies for you, we ask you to be proficient enough to manage on your own as staff can provide minimum support as they are busy with their own work.

Our weekly reading group enables carers to sit round a table, have fun with other carers and have a short story read to them by an experienced Reader called Dorothy (she is wonderful by the way). This mindful activity gets you to slow down and look inwardly.

5th September 2023Our monthly Peer Support Group is for carers experiencing a wide range of bereavement, grief, and loss related issues.
We understand that caring for someone who passes away, a sudden death of a family member or friend, a terminal diagnosis or supporting someone with Dementia can have a big impact on your wellbeing. As part of our commitment to support carers with their emotional wellbeing as well as developing appropriate peer support, we offer this group.

6th September 2023This workshop is people of all backgrounds, from 50-80 years of age to find out what people think about lifestyle apps and brain game apps that are currently available. We want to know what people like and what they don’t like. We will interview users and ask them about their experience of using these apps. Carers attending will get a £20 Sainsbury voucher. We are looking for 8 carers to come and check out the App for 30 minutes.

6th September 2023This surgery is for advice and support only, you have to have an appointment and there is a waiting list. You will be able to get advice on how to tackle your landlords, leaseholder issues and when there is a serious repair issue. We do not help with overcrowding, health grounds and minor repair issues.

6th September 2023Learning is a great way to aid your wellbeing and the benefits are considerable. As part of partnership with Open University we have helped develop a Learning Guide for Carers, this guide is a tool to help carers access courses to suit all needs, likes and directions and now as part of our second stage, we are going to develop a study group, where you will be supported by Tony. You will receive group and individual support, regular check ins and learn as a group but your learning is individual.

You will have the opportunity to remain in a creative bubble as these sessions are directly after our Shared Reading Group. This workshop by Tower Hamlets Talking Therapies provides an introduction to self-compassion, how it can support our mental health and engaging exercises to build self-compassion. We’ll also reflect as group on our own experiences of compassion and self-compassion and how they impact life as a carer.
Self-compassion can support us in reducing stress, increasing distress tolerance, and increasing problem solving skills. It can support our relationships with others and our own sense of emotional well-being.

10th October 2023This one day course teaches carers how to manage first aid occurrences at home. Carers will learn CPR, applying bandages, burns, breaks and how to escalate accidents when needed. Carers will have a good understanding of what to do in emergency situations.

Most importantly other carers will be on hand to swap tips, give advice and welcome you into their caring presence.

You will be able to get advice on how to tackle your landlords, leaseholder issues and when there is a serious repair issue. We do not help with overcrowding, health grounds and minor repair issues. co-produced and relevant to them, such as self-care and personal empowerment workshops. They may also choose to use these sessions to discuss their caring role with staff or simply for ‘chill out’ time in order to connect with other Young Adult Carers and get a break from their caring roles. Food and drink are provided. -
