Sharron

Sharron is one of the Carers Centre’s amazing Carer Health & Wellbeing Champions and she runs a weekly walking group called ‘Walking & Talking’.

Sharron is a carer for four people including her son with complex needs, a friend who is visually impaired and tends to extend a caring hand to many other carers who have learnt from her expertise.

Sharron is a fantastic advocate for carers and is very keen to explain that taking time out from your caring role is essential to good mental health, improved physical health and an overall sense of better and positive wellbeing.

Sharron wants more of you to come and join her on a Monday from 12.30pm to 2pm where you can have a walk round different parts of Tower Hamlets, sometimes venturing into other boroughs like Greenwich and Southwark.

Sharron has stated that as a multiple carer she used to talk walks for her own mental health, she saw the positive benefits of this and then volunteered with our weekly group.

Sharron has just completed an accredited walking training programme and is officially a walker leader and she wants you to know the health benefits of walking such as lowering your blood pressure, help keep Diabetes away, help with your joints and bone density as well as the impact on good emotional wellbeing.

So why not come and join our wonderful Sharron, meet other carers and have a natter, have a gentle walk and end up at a coffee shop for continued chat and a refreshing drink.

We meet outside the Carers Centre in Brayford Square at 12.30 every Monday.

Feel free to bring friends who are carers too.
