We understand that acts of giving, and kindness can help improve your mental wellbeing and fundamentally being a carer means you do give to others but if you feel you want to do more, then giving can create positive feelings and a sense of reward, giving you a feeling of purpose and self-worth and helping you connect with other people.
It could be small acts of kindness towards other people, or larger ones like volunteering in your local community or at the Carers Centre.
We also know that you can give to other carers by sharing your knowledge and life experiences through our peer support groups, being a carer champion or volunteering your expertise such as Reiki.
We encourage you to come forward and volunteer with us, who better to understand carers than carers or former carers. You can either speak to the Wellbeing Academy Manager or fill in the volunteer form on the website.
We are here to help you seek volunteering opportunities elsewhere, just ask for support and we can signpost you to organisations such as our partnerships below who guide you into volunteering.
