– The Tuesday morning Drop-In session at Breathing Space in the London Buddhist Centre is an opportunity to have tea, coffee, and biscuits with other carers in a calm peaceful environment. There is time to connect socially with others as well as engage in a mindful meditation to help relax and restore. This is a non-religious activity and is open to all. You can arrive anytime Fromm 11am, with the meditation starting at 11.45am and ending by 1pm when carers often go for lunch together in a local café. For more details email wellbeing@ccth.org.uk

6th January 2025(2 events) – Our weekly reading group enables carers to sit round a table, have fun with other carers and have a short story read to them by an experienced Reader; this mindful activity enables you to slow down and look inwardly. For more details email wellbeing@ccth.org.uk – Why not come and have a walk in Tower Hamlets with other carers and exercise, lower your blood pressure, connect with people, have fun, and have some mental respite from your caring role. 7th January 2025(5 events) – Carers are offered four, one-hour sessions where they are able to discuss the pressures and issues of the caring role and given coping mechanisms and strategies to effectively manage their caring role. These are provided either face to face, virtually on Zoom, or by telephone. For more details email wellbeing@ccth.org.uk – Working with our partner, ELATT, this learning group is for carers, to learn English as a second language, participants will have an academic year of learning including how carers can learn English to help with their caring roles through conversation with health providers. Caring for someone who passes away, a sudden death of a family member or friend, a terminal diagnosis, someone who is end of life or supporting someone with Dementia can have a big impact on your wellbeing so, why not come along to the group and you will have the chance to be supported by Robin (Counsellor), Tony (Wellbeing Manager) and your fellow carers who help you stay connected which aids better wellbeing. 8th January 2025(2 events) – The peer group is monthly and is for carers of anyone who presents with challenging or difficult behaviour, and this give carers a chance to come together to look at solutions and be able to connect with other carers who just get the situation you find yourself in. There will conversational topics, sometimes consultation and ideas for caring for someone within the client group. 9th January 2025(3 events) – This group is for carers to learn a craft, develop a hobby, and enjoy some free time. Carers will get to have fun with other carers. This group is also a peer support group and recognises the mental health needs of carers, carers of people with a mental health issue, you can also bring the person you care for. Materials, refreshments, and fun will be supplied. For more details email wellbeing@ccth.org.uk – This activity is solely for the carers who took part in the summer of 2024 photography course. The carers will go the city to see their work exhibited and have a celebration. – This new monthly group is aimed at any male carer who wishes to spend time with other male carers and see how camaraderie can help you with your caring role, you can talk if you want or NOT, chat about the issues faced by men in today’s world but you might just want to talk football? 10th January 2025(1 event) – This new group is for carers who want to explore their green fingers, we are lucky to have a plot at the Crossrail Canary Wharf Roof Garden and each month we will have a group tend to the plot, grow herbs for wellbeing. The wellbeing team will triage our waiting list, and the counsellor will undertake the sessions to enable carers feel better equipped to manage their caring role. For more details email wellbeing@ccth.org.uk – This workshop is for carers to understand and learn how to proactively look after your liver, avoid liver damage and think about what you can do to keep your liver healthy as well as yourself. Your liver has an amazing ability to repair itself when it has been damaged. But it can only take so much. 9 out of 10 cases of liver disease are linked to alcohol, weight and viral hepatitis.
