Being a carer can often be an isolating experience and carers often disclose they can feel lonely.
Good relationships are important for your health and emotional wellbeing. They can help you to build a sense of belonging and self-worth, give you an opportunity to share positive experiences, provide emotional support and allow you to care for loved ones and others.
Our peer support groups give you an opportunity to connect with other carers who just get it and help you feel part of a community.
Some of these groups have been coproduced by carers whilst others are developed in partnership with longstanding collaborators.
Peer Support Groups:
- Bereavement & Grief
- Learning Disability, Autism & Physical Disability
- Online Dementia
- Carer Champions
- Royal London Hospital – Stroke
- Royal London Hospital – Dementia & Delirium
- Young Adult Carers
There are other ways to feel connected such as:
- Carers Blog
- E-bulletin
- Walking and talking group
- Arts, Crafts & Conversation
- Weekly drop in at the London Buddhist Centre.
- ESOL classes and conversation group.
Why not discuss your needs and if we have a group that suits you then come along and join, if not why look further afield and join other groups that suit your individual need. We are here to help:
