Take Notice

How often do you take notice of your surroundings as a carer?

Does your caring role stop you from being present or taking up meditative and mindfulness activities?

Paying more attention to the present moment can improve your emotional wellbeing.

This includes your thoughts and feelings, your body, and the world around you.
Some people call this awareness “mindfulness”. Mindfulness can help you enjoy life more and understand yourself better. It can positively change the way you feel about life and how you approach the challenges of caring.

Our mindfulness and holistic activities vary and range from:

  • Funding the weekly Carers Drop in at the London Buddhist Centre where carers can meditate, relax and kick back.
  • We also offer day and overnight retreats several times a year with our partners The London Buddhist Centre. This allows carers to either spend the day or take three nights away to relax, hang out with other carers and just switch off and breathe.
  • Monthly Reiki healing sessions for improving both health and mind enhancing properties.
  • The Walking and Talking group where, carers can walk, connect and talk with peers about the ups and downs of life including difficult caring role tasks whilst taking in local landmarks and enjoying nature.
  • Enjoy taking part in an OpenLearn courses on mindfulness or read up on the many ways carers can be more mindful.

Counselling:

We run weekly counselling days with our in-house counselling service which offers carers sessions with a MBACP registered Counsellor/Psychotherapist and trainees who understand health/disabilities, caring and grief/bereavement.

Additionally, our trauma informed approach enables carers to feel safe, have choices, see collaboration as a positive step forward, enable trustworthiness and feel more empowered.

You will need to register with us to access the in-person activities including counselling.
