March marks Women’s History Month. It is an opportunity to celebrate women’s contributions to society, politics, science, arts, and culture, while raising awareness about gender equality issues. There are a number of events taking place at the Carers Centre and in our borough throughout the month of March.

 

Women’s Health Group  | Diabetes Workshop
Thursday 12th March

We are delighted to be joined by Dr Gillian Hood, a Diabetes Research Manager at Queen Mary University London/Barts Health NHS Trust.

This Diabetes Workshop will cover topics including diabetes support, prevention, and coping and living with type 2 diabetes.

Women’s Health and Wellbeing day
Tuesday 24 March

The long-awaited second Women’s Health and Wellbeing day from SPLASH will be held in March. This is year we are focusing on how climate change and the environment affect women’s health.

Join us for a beautiful community day full of workshops, interactive stalls, movement, creativity and support. From menopause and cervical cancer awareness to sustainable periods, mental health, air quality, housing, SEND support and more — this is a safe, welcoming space to learn, connect and take action for yourself and your family.

When? Tuesday 24 March 10:10am–2:00pm
Where? St Matthias Community Centre, Poplar (E14 0AE)

Women’s History Month in Tower Hamlets

London Borough of Tower Hamlets will be hosting a month-long programme of events in March

Events include Tower Hamlets Women’s Spring Open Exhibition, a day of celebration to mark International Women’s Day, the Women in Business Festival, and a programme of sport and physical activities for women and girls.

Throughout March, contemporary women artists, activists, writers and performers will also present a diverse programme of events and exhibitions in studios, galleries, venues, libraries and institutions across East London.
