The Carers Centre funds specific counselling for carers, as part of commitment to carer wellbeing you can sign up for 4 1 hour sessions, if you think this is for you then you will need to consult with your centre worker who will refer you, please be ready to tell your worker the reason why you need counselling. There is a waiting list, but it is worth waiting.
Giving to others
Research suggests that acts of giving and kindness can help improve your mental wellbeing by:
- creating positive feelings and a sense of reward
- giving you a feeling of purpose and self-worth
- helping you connect with other people
It could be small acts of kindness towards other people, or larger ones which is what carers do but sometimes you need help to keep that positivity, mechanisms to maintain your caring role.
