Attendance Allowance is a financial benefit for older people who require support with personal care or supervision. It is not means-tested, so your income and savings won’t affect your claim. It does not cover mobility needs.
Who can claim for Attendance Allowance?
To qualify for Attendance Allowance, you must:
- Be over State Pension age
- Have a physical or mental disability
- Need help caring for yourself or need supervision to stay safe
You could also get extra Pension Credit, Housing Benefit or Council Tax Reduction if you get Attendance Allowance.

How much is Attendance Allowance?
Depending on your level of need, you could receive either the lower or higher rate. Currently you could be entitled to either £72.65 or £108.55 a week to help with personal support.
