Carers Wellbeing Academy:

Improving the wellbeing of unpaid carers through Information, Connection and Support.

Welcome to the Carers Wellbeing Academy – a unique service provided by The Carers Centre Tower Hamlets.

Our aim is to provide a holistic range of activities, workshops, groups that informs, connects and supports any carer with their wellbeing and caring role.

Inform

We run educational and learning workshops on condition specific issues related to both the carer and the person they care for, activities to help carers with their mental and physical wellbeing as well as helping carers look for opportunities to have a life beyond their caring role.

Connect

We develop partnerships with both carers and other organisations to enable carers to feel less isolated, to be heard and valued and to experience the positivity of peer led groups by taking part.  We encourage carers to connect creatively through artistic endeavours that provide much needed mindfulness and mental respite.

Support

We provide inspiration and support for current and former carers.  Our wrap around activities includes, counselling, carer retreats, physical exercise classes as well as signposting to employment & training schemes, online platforms that enhance better emotional wellbeing and experienced providers who deliver face to face activities that positively combat negative wellbeing.

We know from personal experience how difficult it is to take time for ourselves when in the midst of looking after someone else, especially those with complex needs.  So please click on our calendar which is updated monthly to check out what activities can suit you around your caring role, obligations or if you are a working carer and come and join in.
