16th May 2022Does your caring role stop you from reading a book or books? When was the last time you had someone read to you?
Our weekly reading group enables carers to sit round a table, have fun with other carers and have a short story read to them by an experienced Reader called Dorothy (she is wonderful by the way). This mindful activity gets you to slow down and look inwardly.

18th May 2022This monthly forum gives carers a chance to come together and discuss their caring roles, feeding back on customer service of organisations and agencies working within Tower Hamlets, explore ideas in which Tower Hamlets can support carers, look at best practice and work in partnership with the Carers Centre to continuously improve its services. The forum enables carers and the Carers Centre to equally give to each other.
This month’s Forum will have a presentation on saving energy and energy costs. Are you finding it difficult to pay your bills?

19th May 2022This group is for carers to come and learn a craft, develop a hobby, and have some free time, you will get to have fun with other carers, this group is also a peer support group and recognises the mental health needs of carers, carers of people with a mental health issue, you can also bring the person you care for. 19th May 2022A weekly group uses exercise to learn about Tower Hamlets, you will walk in as a group of carers, physically distanced but near enough to chat, have a laugh and enjoy the outdoors. You meet outside the Carers Centre at 1pm and off you go as group. We include topical, educational, and seasonal walks.

19th May 2022This is a weekly group that brings local E1 residents and carers together to combat loneliness and isolation, get together, have fun, and be engaged. We work in partnership with Jubilee Street practice, Compassionate Neighbours, Social Action for Health, and Public Health. Carers are also welcome with their cared for’s and this gives us a chance to connect with people within Tower Hamlets.

20th May 2022Our IT suite is open to carers, carers who are students, carers writing CV’s and job applications, online food shopping or just want to check your emails once a week to catch up, meet other carers and have some mental respite.
We do not have a printer and cannot print copies for you, we ask you to be proficient enough to manage on your own as staff can provide minimum support as they are busy with their own work. Being able to connect with others will help with carers wellbeing.
