Hello Everyone

So this weekend its Easter for some of you, the most important and oldest festival of the Christian Church, celebrating the resurrection of Christ.  For other’s it is a celebration of family, chocolate and being together.  Whatever way you will celebrate this long weekend, have fun but keep safe, don’t do anything to jeopardise your health or undo all the positive advancements under lockdown.

As I always say we want the carers of Tower Hamlets healthy, happy, and supported.  Don’t forget there will be no blog until next Wednesday 7th April.

An online dancing intervention study for carers which I would like to invite you to participate in.

If you like the sound of this six week dance and health & wellbeing study, then pleased email tony@ccth.org.uk for more details.

You will be given a project brief and a participation consent form.

Do you, or someone you care for, have a health condition that impacts daily life?

Anyone who does can enter a draw to win Amazon vouchers worth £200 or £100.

 Make a difference. Improve lives.

Want to be in our films?

We are commissioning some films to be shown on our website and we are looking for carers and the people you care for to take part.

The films will be made by trainees on The Zoom Film School training scheme at Four Corners Film Workshop on Roman Road. They have explained their film ideas and they all sound great!

They will tell the stories of a wide range of carers and the people you care for – and how you have benefitted from what we offer at the Carers Centre. They will be a great way to reach new carers, particularly carers who don’t know they are carers or what support is available to them.

Could you be available for a couple of hours to be filmed for a part of your day?
Could you also be available to give a short interview? That would take about an hour and be here at the Carers Centre. The filming will take place on Wednesday 28th and Thursday 29th April

Please contact Tony tony@ccth.org.uk  and he will put you in touch with the staff at Four Corners who will give you more information about the filming and how you can be involved.

We would like a range of carers, including:

  • A young carer aged 16-25
  • A young, female carer who also goes to college
  • A carer who helps their neighbours
  • An older carer who cares for an elderly parent or similar
  • If you are a carer not on this list please do also get in touch because we want to show a wide range of experiences!

The filming will adhere to strict Covid- 19 guidelines with social distancing.

In line with the government’s COVID-19 Response – Spring 2021 roadmap published last month, those on the shielded patient list can begin to follow the national restrictions alongside the rest of the population, but are still advised to take extra precautions to keep themselves safe from COVID-19.
