Hello Everyone

Have you had your vaccination yet or the person you care for?  The Carers Centre is strongly promoting that you do, so if you get your call up, make sure you go, any problems let us know and continue to read this blog for information relating to Tower Hamlets vaccination programme.

Unpaid carers under the age of 65 will be prioritised in Group 6 for the COVID-19 vaccine. Carers aged 65 and above will be able to access the vaccine earlier under the initial groupings.

This prioritisation recognises the important role carers play in supporting those they care for and the health and social care system.

Yesterday we had a great group discussion at The Tuesday Social Club about our favourite decade and it was hilarious telling stories about our youth and the antics we got up to.  If you like the idea of joining a weekly social peer group that meets to have fun, gossip, sharing advice and taking time out for yourself then please let me know and I will send you an invite for our Zoom sessions.

The Yellow Card Scheme is the UK system for collecting and monitoring information on safety concerns or incidents involving medicines.

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency is the agency that ensures that medicines meet appropriate safety, quality and efficacy standards.

Anyone can report a side effect via the Yellow Card Scheme. There is also now a dedicated Yellow Card Scheme website specifically for coronavirus related medicines and side effects reporting: https://coronavirus-yellowcard.mhra.gov.uk/

There’s a great video showing you how to report side effects via the website https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TrUHlhgVAE4&feature=emb_logo

Alternatively, you can call their freephone number, 9am-5pm, Monday – Friday: 0800 731 6789.

Remember! When reporting any side effect from a recent Covid vaccination, you will need the Batch Number on your vaccination card.
